I finally jumped into a big time commitment! Wishing to take my photography into another level, I traded in my Canon XTI and Sigma lens for the bigger and stronger Canon EOS 5D. The Canon 5D is the world's lightest and most affordable full-frame, semi-pro digital SLR (or so they claim). Along with this beautiful thing, I purchased a Canon EF 24-105 mm F4.0 L IS USM lens. Sounds like a lot of camera mumbo jumbo, doesn't it? No matter, this lens is one of Canon's most popular walkaround lens in their "L" series -- the luxury series. So far, this camera and lens handle well. I love it, and I'm hoping to make lots of great memories with my play thing! This particular combo retails for $3,200 CAD in Toronto. With a Canon rebate program running until the 30th of July, this is a great chance for aspiring photographers to build on their shooting gear.
Now, the question is, where am I travelling next so I can put this camera to good use? I'm hoping to go to Marrakech and the Sahara desert some time late this year or early next year...
